About Susan Skove (skovsilk.wordpress.com)

IMG_9003I’ve created this blog to record and share my new work. For the past 20 years I’ve painted  on silk, mostly as art to wear, but also some wall pieces. I started to do some “portraits” in silk a year ago. Some examples of these can be found on skovsilk.wordpress.com  I realized that the work on silk would be enhanced if I honed my people painting  and drawing skills. With the silk I am not at all going for a likeness but am interested in the spirit or feel of the image. With the drawing and painting mediums  I am attempting realism (hopefully with soul). So far I see a movement between the silk and the other mediums in the sense that they grow each other.  And the scarves?  They too benefit from my expanding into another media and focus.
